You can be my Joey Ramone!

Holy crap, Sleater-Kinney, live in T.O. on June 18th! I can see the scene now: Alexandra is rocking out at the very front of the crowd, when Carrie Brownstein (uber-awesome guitar queen) catches her eye and beckons her backstage after the show where the band teaches her the ways of being a Rock Goddess. Totally freaking sweet.

Also totally freaking sweet is the fact that a new Star Wars movie comes out in a couple of weeks. Despite the relative crappiness of the last two, I feel that the new one will manage to redeem them. It’s just a hunch that I got after seeing the trailer today. Something about Natalie Portman with Leia buns. I also feel that if the Boy for Whom I Pine was to ask me to go to the movie with him, all my wildest dreams will have come true. (Likelihood of wildest dreams coming true: Slim to nil, leaning towards nil.)

I’ve just realized that I hate using “I” when I write, even in this very subjective bloggy context. I avoid using it when I write for school, too, even though numerous profs have assured me that it’s not completely taboo.

I, I, I, I, I’m practicing using I. I, I, Aye, Aye, captain. Aye’m a pirate. (And perhaps also mad? Hmmm.)

  1. Leith says:

    Hugh are mad!

  2. Alexandra says:

But not as mad as Hugh!

Have you seen the Hitchhiker’s Guide yet? I’m sure you already know this but it features the vocal talent of Alan Rickman and Helen Mirren and has Bill Nighy and the sex-film stand-in dude from Love Actually in starring roles. Oh, and the guy who plays Guy, the extra, in Galaxy Quest is Zaphod Beeblebrox. It’s really quite good.

(I do not have ADD: Thought process was as follows: Hugh Grant is British, so are numerous actors in Hitchiker’s Guide, therefore I will tell you about them.)
