Emotionally Stunted! Good job!

December 1, 2006 by admin

I’ve realized that I’m an emotionally stunted individual who cannot get close to or open up to any other individual, and thus spends an awful lot of time going to the movies alone because it’s so much safer and easier to just get so deeply involved with fictional characters on the screen that you spend entire films crying than it is to make actual real-life connections to people.

Ok, good. Now that that’s out in the open, we can return to our reguarly scheduled snarky blogging.

My best friends are the cast of Deep Space 9.

Awww. Would it make you feel better if I told you that it doesn’t get easier unless you work on it and that the right person is not going to come along someday and you’ll finally find yourself able to open up and let yourself be vulnerable because they’re so special and you trust them like no one you’ve ever trusted before and you know they’d never hurt you or twist your beliefs into something ludicrous and/or so stupid you wonder if you really ever though it? It just doesn’t work that way – it’s not them, it’s you. ;) It’s hard and it sucks and sometimes we sabotage 4-year-old relationships because it’s just too hard.

Oh wait, that’s me, projecting. oops.

Hang in there. New York will be wonderful. Sometimes new places allow new identities.

I think New York is going to be VERY good for me. I need to get out of this town for a bit. And project away! Doesn’t bother me one bit.

My best friend on Deep Space Nine is Morn.
