Dear Tanya,

I just wanted you to know that the Conservapedia entry on dinosaurs, is, in fact, about how dinosaurs and people co-existed. And continue to do so. Cause the dinosaurs survived in that ark thing.

Also of note is the fact that there is an entry on war elephants, but no entry on regular elephants.

Love,

Alexandra

PS: One thing the conservatives have going for them is that they believe in unicorns.

    Dear Alexandra,

Are you sure you want to move to the states? I see you pointing out some very disturbing examples of American stupidity. While your soon-to-be prof enjoys being second on the Dirty Dozen, and Conservapedia believes in unicorns, these things scare me. They scare me a lot. Conservatives scare me. They scare me a lot.

While you can make fun and laugh at their ridiculousness, I am left with a feeling of deep despair. Conservatives scare me. They scare me a lot.

Today on the Dean Blundell Show, Todd (Todd! Todd!! TODD!!! for the love of opera gloves, Todd!), made a very interesting point: beastiality is still legal in some states, but gay couples aren’t. You can fuck a goat, but you can’t have bum sex.

I know there are Conservatives in Canada, and there are probably a few Canadian Conservatives that contribute to Conservapedia, but the socialists in our country seem to keep things balanced.

Seriously, I have an uneasy feeling of dread at the thought of Conservatives. I have a nagging feeling of impending doom. Show me some headlines about drugs and guns and I’ll send you on your merry way. But Conservatives? They’re scary! They scare me a lot.

    Socialistically yours,
    Amy

Your impending move to the States aside – this much more selfish Amy needs your help. It appears the only way I can sign into my Blogger account is to go through your blog first to get ‘recognized’. What the fuck is going on with Blogger? I got a stupid gmail account and it still isn’t not working right.
    Help!!

Christ! Conservapedia is, like, totally insane. I mean, Conservapedia Commandments? All this talk on “anti-American” and “anti-Christian” — these people are paranoid! I thought it was a total joke while I was reading it, and I’m still not convinced it isn’t, it’s just too outrageous.

Conservatives are hysterically funny; there’s no end to the amusement. Besides, anything that’s THAT funny can’t be dangerous, right?

Yes, I want to move to the states because one of the best universities in the world is going to pay all of my tuition and fees, and then is giving me more money on top of that, in effect, paying for me to go to school. In a warm place. In arguably the best department to be in to do the work that I want to do. With faculty who are amazing. And while conservatives may be scary, a university environment is very different from, say, the backwoods of Louisiana. And, despite being a cynic, I still have some faith in people, and I don’t think people are as dumb as we think. There is also going to be an election next year which will probably result in a change or two. So, yes, I am moving to the states, and I don’t care what anybody thinks. I also have no idea who Todd is.

I have no idea what is wrong with your blogger account. Have you switched over to the new version? You can only sign in with a google account if you’re using the new version, otherwise, sign into old blogger and use your old account.

I haven’t told you the juicy details about California because I’ve been stuck at my computer catching up on all the work I missed while I was away.
