Pretentious video store guy #2: “Sydney White.”
PVSG #1: “Um…Ok..?”
PVSG #2: “It’s like a modern day Snow White. With Amanda Bynes.”
PVSG #1: “They should make a modern day Titus Andronicus. With Amanda Bynes. That’s something I’d want to watch.”

Hi. Pretentious video store guy#1 here.

It’s cool that you made note of our Amanda Bynes rant, however paraphrased. We were duscussing how teen movies often use Shakespeare as source material (“10 Things I Hate About You”) and I was saying thay should base one of Titus Andronicus, ’cause then it would be rife with sex and gore. But either way, it’s nice to be (mis)quoted.

Let’s leave Amanda Bynes out of this, okay? I know She’s The Man was a pretty dumb movie, but as I said before and I’ll say again, it is Julia Stiles that is systematically destroying the Shakespearean canon for all of us.

Um, please don’t ban us from the video store.

I do prefer “paraphrase” to “misquote.” And I just thought Titus Andronicus as an Amanda Bynes movie was probably the most surreal idea ever, so please take my paraphrasing as a compliment.

And also I mean pretentious in the nicest possible way. I mean, I patronize your fine establishment, which means I’m pretty pretentious, too.
