Do you know…that I don’t think I have read all of Feminine Endings? I’ve only read it in bits and pieces as I’ve needed it for work that I’ve been doing, but I’ve never actually sat down and read the entire thing. You could borrow my copy sometime if you want because, clearly, it is currently collecting dust.

Things I really like about this list include the use of ditto marks in #2 and the question mark after “seduce philosopher,” which implies that I am still trying to figure out if this is a good idea.

And #1 and #2 are my new mantra! And should be everyone else’s, too! Unsuitable men only lead to headaches! (Unfortunately, the only suitable men I can think of are played by Colin Firth in certain kinds of movies and are fictional, so basically I can look forward to a future of never getting laid again if I stick to my mantra.)

Though I have not made a similar list, most of your list applies to me. Except that I would replace “philosopher” with “certain already taken graduate student”, “bathtub” with “Tetris”, and “Kristeva” with “Feminine Endings.”

All of the rest applies. Let’s hope I remember 1. and 2. when I meet the accountant…

I just found out that a friend of mine who lives in France is dating a new guy. When my other friend told me she said “…And he’s a philosophe. I said, “NO HE ISN’T!” But it’s true. My friend is dating a French philosopher.
