    In a stroke of brilliance, today at the bus stop I realized that my summer research project, which will be about popular music, gender, and race, and which I hope to turn into a publishable article, is actually going to be about hair. It will be called “From Dusty Springfield to Amy Winehouse: A Genealogy of the Beehive in Blue-Eyed Soul.”
