  1. Joan Jett singing Crimson and Clover

is one of the few things in the world that will cheer me even when I am in the throws of hormonal mopitude.

ANYHOW!  This weekend has been full of some remarkable things.  Those things include:

    1.  Painting myself green,

    2.  Drinking wine out of the bottle, (“It’s safer this way -  I won’t break a glass.”)

    3.  Urban hiking – I didn’t walk all the way to the ocean, because I had to go home and do work (I know, what a drag) and also it started pouring rain, but I walked from Grand and Wilshire downtown to Santa Monica and Wilshire in Beverly Hills.  And it was really fun.  I’m planning some more urban hikes – next weekend I might do all of Fairfax, which is only about five miles, but it should still be fun and we can stop in Little Ethiopia for lunch!

    4.  Rain, rain, rain.  I love it when it rains in Los Angeles because I get to wear my Russian Spy Coat.

    5.  I saw Happy-Go-Lucky, the new Mike Leigh film – and it was really great, and very quirkyalone-friendly, which I increasingly appreciate these days.

    5.  I just ate some macaroni and cheese that was in the shape of a brick.  I need to figure out how to get my homemade mac and cheese to come out in a solid brick, as clearly this ups the awsome factor by about 86%.

    UPCOMING EVENTS:

    1.  Sam and I are going to go to Bar Lubistch (also known as “what is that sketchy-looking Russian Bar?”) because I found out that it is, in fact, a specialty vodka bar that has hundreds of kinds of vodka and weird Tsarist interior decor.  And also it is mere blocks away from our house.

    2.  This morning over breakfast I came up with a fascinating business idea called “Voicemail from a Monkey (patent pending).”    I’m not telling you what it is.
