Dear Intelligentsia Coffee,

February 19, 2009 by ms. xandra

It is very nice that you are opening up a pretentious new location in Venice with fancy hydrolic pods or something, but please will you open a store in West Hollywood in the empty storefont near my house. I will give you hundreds of dollars.  Thank you.

Love,
Alexandra

Dear office computer,

It has taken me an hour to burn a cd on you, what is your problem? Oh, the things I do for Sgt. Pepper.

Hate,
Alexandra

Dear Readers,

This is the first time I have looked at my blog on this computer and I am dismayed to see that the header banner is not centered which fills my obsessive-compulsive heart with angst. Does that happen to any of you? If so, I will fix it this weekend.

Love, love, love, and also cookies,

Alexandra

Hmmm… that link is not working. Hydraulic pods sound wonderful. I don’t know what

The header banner is centred on my mac and my PC. Or my eyes are broken.

  2. ms. xandra says:

I fixed it! Actually the hydraulic pod business sounds suspicious. In fact, the whole setup sound suspicious and kind of stupid to me. Like, there won’t be any tables because they think tables are alienating? What is the point of a coffee shop with no tables? Also there is something about how they will have three different kinds of water piped in for brewed coffee, tea, and espresso. Which seems…excessive. The whole thing reads like a parody of how pretentious coffee shops can get.

Having said this, I will inevitably go and worship at the Intelligentsia altar because, damn, that hipster coffee is SO GOOD.

Apparently this is where they are getting their water from:

Why does this business exist? Why? This is the most pointless dumb thing I have ever heard of! Custom Water! I hope they also have Custom Air to enhance the experience of the aroma of your coffee.

It is so ridiculous that I can’t decide if I love it or if I hate it.

    Hahaha… http://www.cirqua.com/ordertestkit.asp

    Under “Free Water Test”:
“Do not use this method to order the kit unless you have been instructed to do so.”

  5. Leith says:

I feel like now it is less centred for me than it was before. Weird…

  6. sra says:

Perhaps the yellow box is throwing off the optical centre.

  7. ms. xandra says:

Yeah, I know the yellow box is kind of off-centery, but that was sort of on purpose. On the computer I was on at school, the entire banner was justified to the right hand side, which I have just decided to chalk up to it being the Worst Computer in the World.
