Weirdly, I knew about 826, the literacy organization that those stores support, but had somehow missed the memo about the stores themselves. It's of my sister and Chelsea Wallace, circa 1995ish, in the basement of my parents' house mid-renovations (so the place looks kind of like a war zone). Helen and Chelsea have their faces painted garishly, are wearing the most ridiculous dress-up get-ups EVER (including something large being shoved up my sister's shirt), there are random and unrelated toys strewn all over the floor, and my sister is crouching down and looking straight at the camera, with this strange/horrifying growling/grimacing/constipated look on her face.
