And I just bought a new HP, because I loved my old one in every possible way and I love my new one even more. The new one, though, is a lot more robust and less fiddly than the old one and doesn't have the turny screen thing. I was always kind of skeptical of the swivelling screen, and looking closely at the old one, I noticed some cracks in the casing that I hadn't seen before, so I'm wondering if there was something wrong with the connection between the monitor and the computer itself. And also, it's not dead anymore. I tried turning it on yesterday, and now it will turn on, but there's no picture. So I remain convinced that it's just the monitor or something to do with the battery/power source. I'm going to take it to some actually competent computer people once the term is over and I have some time. It was an HP. My dead computer of the same brand did the exact same thing. I will never buy another anything made of that brand again. hehehe....hoooray for earthquakes!
